How to deal with Procrastination
Twenty percent of the general population identy themselves as
chronic procrastinators. Procrastination is not a problem with
time management but rather an issue with getting started and
staying focused.
Procrastinators are not born but rather tend to pick the habit
from a parent or someone they are close to growing up. This means
with the correct approach and focus this habit can be dealt with.
A true procrastinator looks for any or all distractions as an
excuse to not start a task.
Procrocrastinators can be divided into four groups.
Arousal – They get a last minute rush such as always being late.
Avoid – They fear failure thus are afraid to start.
Decision – They can’t make a decision either good or bad.
Perfectionism – They don’t start unless it’s done perfect!
The procrastination habit can be broken by:
Breaking the larger task into smaller parts.
Just get start, even it’s for a few minutes.
Reward rather than punish yourself.
Do the worst part of the task first.
Write the task down
Track your prgress.
Ask others for assistance.
